Silica sol belongs to colloidal solutions, odorless and non-toxic, and its molecular formula can be expressed as mSiO ². nH ² O.
1. Due to the fine size of colloidal particles (10-20nm), they have a considerable specific surface area and are colorless and transparent, which does not affect the natural color of the covered material.
2. The viscosity is low, and it can penetrate wherever water can penetrate, so it has excellent dispersibility and permeability when mixed with other substances.
3. When the water in the silica sol evaporates, the colloidal particles firmly adhere to the surface of the object, forming a silicon oxygen bond between the particles, which is a good adhesive.

1. Used as a binder for various refractory materials, it has the characteristics of strong bonding strength and high temperature resistance (1500-1600 ℃).
2. Used in the paint industry, it can make the paint firm, and has functions such as anti pollution, dustproof, anti-aging, and fireproof.
3. Used for precision casting of thin shells, it can achieve high shell strength and casting smoothness. Using its shape is of better quality than water glass shape, and replacing ethyl silicate shape can reduce costs and improve operating conditions.
4. Silica sol has a high specific surface area and can be used for catalyst manufacturing and catalyst support.
5. Used in the paper industry, it can be used as a glass paper anti sticking agent, pre-treatment agent for photographic paper, anti slip agent for cement bags, etc.
6. Used as a sizing agent in the textile industry, it is combined with oil agents to treat wool and rabbit hair, which can improve the spinnability of wool and free hair, reduce breakage, prevent flying flowers, increase product yield, and increase economic benefits.
7. Used as a processing agent for silicon steel sheets, a dispersant for cathode ray tubes, and anti slip for floor wax.
